Meeting Agenda:

Candidates for Infernal were Erin Larkspur and Tse Wei Lim. Normal election
procedure was observed, i.e. candidates gave their spiel and faced
interrogation, and chaos ensued.
Tse Wei Lim was elected and minutes were handed over by Stage.

As he was also HRSFA's scapegoat, through no fault of his, the position has
become vacant. The selection of a new scapegoat was added to the agenda,
and subsequently postponed to the next meeting.

The Wyld Hunt was introduced to the freshmen, some of whom were very
disturbed by the concept. "An ancient tradition, started a long time ago,
like under Kyle" *Kyle bashing* approaches what Perrin said. Various
stories of its distinguished (Woad and Wenches) origins were told. The
original plan was to hold it on 30 Oct, to coincide with the coming of the
hour and Freshman Parents' Weekend. Withers called for a Huntmaster(s), a
Stag, and a Date - hastily amended to an evening upon which the hunt is
held. He pointed out that we are also a social organisation. 
Erin Leonard and Bryn Neuenschwander lead the hunt, Dennis Clark will be
hunted, after being reassured that we did not in fact want someone faster.
The Date is tentatively 23rd Oct. Confirmation within the week.
It was noted that this is Head of the Charles weekend, Claudia's response
was that scaring the security guards is fun.
We seek a room with a fireplace for the post hunt feast. Interested parties
should contact eleonard@fas and ender@ptc.com. Blood spatter should be
minimal.

The Coming of the Hour was introduced by Grand Poobah Lotze, date set by
default for 30th Oct. We were reminded _not_ to burn the clock at the end
of this ceremony. 

Announcement of the Fall Party was preceded by a failed drumroll. Perrin
courageously volunteered his room. The party will probably be held on 15th
Oct, possibly 16th Oct. Perrin and Withers attempted to set up a psychic
link to determine the time. They failed. Time was set for 2000H.
Confirmation when we're all psychic (which should be soon).

SIG Reports:

Igs SIG - The Ignobels actually happened. Ender was quoted in the Crimson
the next day. Troy Hurtubise (Bear armour guy) and armour were taken out to
dinner after the ceremony - the armour needed a cab. New leaders are sought
for Igs SIG - interested parties mail cmastr@fas.

Bizarreness SIG - Bizarreness SIG proposed a telepathy table. You will know
when this happens. 

MST SIG - Survived the Fantastic Four movie. Surprisingly. They meet
Tuesdays at 1830H in the Mather JCR.

Writers SIG - Met. Science Centre 109, 2000H on Mondays. There were unclear
reports of 170 pages of SF writing coming in. 

Milk & Cookies SIG - Met with unprecedented attendance and unprecedented
selection of milk. (Skim, 2%, whole, Chocolate, Strawberry and Coffee). The
next meeting, due to a packed October schedule, should be the first weekend
of November. If you have told a story at a previous Milk & Cookies, please
e-mail bneuensc@fas with the title and author for the M&C archive. Or face
the wrath of the killer cookies.

*More Kyle bashing*

Cool Movies SIG - Is in the midst of a resurrection. Undeath will be
presided over by Tom Lotze, email lotze@fas if interested. How can you
resist a SIG with a motto like "against the man AND the breakfast cereal?"
Lotze pointed out that a big benefit of this SIG is that it's easy to see
what it's about.

Babylon 5 SIG - Sucessfully resurrected itself under Dennis Clark
(dclark@fas). They have, officially, got all the Bab 5 ever shot. Weekly
showings, of 3 episodes length, are planned.

Anime SIG - Will be showing Lain, a series about God and e-mail, giving new
meaning to Deus Ex Machina. Showings in the Loker Greenhouse, times TBA.

Gaming SIG - TFOS will be starting soon, as will Shadowrun. Jason Morrow
appealed for a Playstation - e-mail jmorrow@fas if you wish to aid his
nefarious plots. Gaming took place.

Munchies SIG - Was conspicuous by its absence.
